Approach


The objective of the project is to enhance the resilience of 6 project cities (Kochi, Mangaluru, Ratnagiri, Bidhannagar, Porbandar and Panaji) to hydromet hazards and climate change.

Hatch Marine Consultants are the coordinators for Kochi city.

The scope of work of the project include:

  • Support participating cities in preparing resilience actions plans that will assess hydro-meteorological hazards, exposure, vulnerability, and risks to urban assets, services and communities.
  • Identify current and future adaptive options and develop action plans that include recommendations for strengthening institutional capacity and governance instruments, and investment outline for resilient solutions.
  • Develop a plan to strengthen the capacity for improving hydromet service delivery to critical weather dependent sectors and users.

The consultancy contract is between Project Management Unit, NDMA of the National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project II (NCRMP-II) and HaskoningDHV Consulting Pvt. Ltd. in Joint Venture with HaskoningDHV Nederland B.V. and Taru Leading Edge Pvt. Ltd.
