Arjun, recipient of the Young Scientist Award in 2010 by the Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment, Govt. of Kerala, has over 18 years of hands-on project experience with in-depth knowledge of numerical modelling and its application to coastal and marine engineering and environmental applications. His expertise includes coastal hydraulics and sediment transport, natural hazards and vulnerability, flood assessment, and coastal flooding. He has particular expertise in the use of numerical modelling packages MIKE 21, MIKE 3, and LITPACK for the analysis of currents, waves, storm surge, sediment transport processes, dredging, and recirculation analysis for power stations and desalination plants. Arjun is an expert in assessing the vulnerability of various coastal hazards, shoreline change, and the effect of anthropogenic intervention along the coast by studying the morphodynamics of the coast using measured data and numerical models.
He has been involved in major projects such as the Assam Integrated Flood and Riverbank Erosion Risk Management Investment Program for ADB, Hydro-meteorological Resilience Action Plans (HmRAP) in selected urban areas in India under National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project (NCRMP) Phase-II for the World Bank, and Tsunami and Storm Surge Inundation Modelling and Mapping for Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep, India. He has published his studies in various international journals and has presented his works in various conferences. Arjun’s international experience includes projects in countries like Abu Dhabi, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and India.
